To Love Is To Accept, Not Approve

Sometimes we confuse terms, we believe that someone who really loves us will have to accept us as we are, with our virtues and defects, and the truth is partly right, but there is a huge difference between: accepted and approved. One thing is that you accept who you are and another thing is to approve what you do.

Perhaps the person who loves you will accept you as you are, with all your strengths and weaknesses, but maybe not approve your way of being in some respects, because maybe that person expects you to change or that over time you show the desire to overcome this defect.

The problem of most people is that they DO NOT WANT TO CHANGE. We want the person to love us, love us just as we are, and do nothing, absolutely nothing to please that person, but we are with a sense of pure selfishness that the only thing he or she thinks is in itself.

A person who lives waiting to be accepted and approved as is, is a selfish person, because is thinking of his good, and not what others think. And the biggest problem is that such people have is they want everyone to live for him, that whatever is done is for the benefit of it, but never puts on his part to please or to benefit another.
